Viewing Tower "Stöcklewald"
Popular excursion and rest destination
After climbing the 127 steps up to the viewing platform of the Stöcklewald tower, a unique panorama awaits the visitor with an all-round view of the Hornisgrinde in the north, the Swabian Alb in the east, the Feldberg in the south and beyond to the glacier-covered peaks of the Swiss Alps.
Located directly on the “Mittelweg” long-distance hiking trail maintained and marked by the Black Forest Association, the Stöcklewald Tower with its tower and rustic hiking restaurant, which is managed by the Black Forest Association, is a popular destination for excursions and rest stops.
Incidentally, the Stöcklewald Tower is known far beyond the region among amateur radio operators. The 1,100 meter high Stöcklewaldrelais - the second highest in Germany - intercepts radio messages from amateur radio operators and forwards them with greater power.
